I lived in the building from 1996-2000 and have recently moved back in (summer 2004). I have to say that the neighborhood is not as nice as it was 5 years ago, but I still greatly enjoy living in the building. My experience with the manager and caretakers has been entirely positive, and I have found them to be very responsive to my requests. (And I in no way resemble a cheerleader, as one reviewer has suggested is necessary.) The lobby and courtyards are lovely, and the dog owners seem very co-operative with the building rules (no dogs in courtyard, on leash at all times). The costs are reasonable, the location is fantastic, and the neighborhood fairly friendly. On the down side, the neighborhood overall has declined somewhat, but I do not feel unsafe. I am simply more careful. You can't live downtown and expect it to be the 'burbs.
