More or less a good place to live.

I recently moved to the Twin Cities and had about two days to find a place and for the most part, I'm happy with my decision. For people wanting to live in downtown Minneapolis, I think One Ten Grant is a great option. It's right off of Nicollet Mall, where there are lots of great (but expensive) places to eat and things to do, and it's next to Loring Park, where they often have fun stuff going on, like movies in the park and different fests. The building itself is very nice, my guests are always impressed, and I've been very pleased with the maintenance and 24-hour concierge staff. Here are the negatives: the elevator takes forever and although I've only lived here about a month, I've heard that it's been stuck between floors at least three times and I'm just waiting for it to happen to me. The walls aren't as thick as I thought they were and I often hear my neighbor's music late at night. These things would be easy to put up with, however, if it weren't for the thing that bothers me the most... the internet is horrible!!! Seriously, IT'S HORRIBLE. One of the reviews mentioned on this site said it was slow, but I just figured it was a computer geek who was used to superfast internet. No, whoever left that comment had it exactly right. The internet is mind-numbingly slow - you can forget about streaming video, downloading any kind of file, and often it's so slow that I can't even check my email because it times out. I've found out that most residents pay for their own internet, which I will probably end up doing as well, but find extremely annoying because part of the reason I picked this apartment was because the rent included the cost of internet. Now that I've vented my frustrations, good luck with your apartment search. I know it's not easy!
