I am almost certain that any good reviews or responses on this site were written by people who work for the management. I have lived here for 2 years. When I moved in there was no smoke detector, only wires hanging from the ceiling. There were no covers on any stove. For a period they stopped accepting packages in the office and I was forced to drive to carrier's location to pick it up. Nothing ever gets fixed so I just do it myself. There is no recycling pickup which is actually against the law. I have also shown up at home to find strangers in my apartment and and the manager showing the apartment to them as a potential place to rent. The building is completely unsafe. In the past two years I have had my car broken into and someone broke into my apartment while I was sleeping and stole my laptop computer. There is fresh glass in the parking lot all the time from break-ins and I have seen drug deals go down in the parking lot. The management is never around and don't seem to care about the tenants. I've had a few friends who have also lived here. One also had his car broken into and had to take the landlord to court when he moved out to get his security deposit back. Another friend never had a working shower fan and had her hot water turned off for several months. I've only heard bad things from other tenants and from people who live on other properties owned by Jim Eischens.
He is one of the biggest slumlords in town If you don't believe me then google his name or click on some of the links I have listed below. Twin Cities Housing is horrible. He has hundreds of violations and lawsuits against him and his license has almost been revoked several times (as it should be). He also has lawsuits against former tenants. A few years ago there was a fire at one of the houses they owned and it wasn't up to fire code and 3 U of M students died. It garnered Jim Eischens national attention as a slumlord (see link below). The name of company used to be Eischens Management, but was changed to Twin Cities Housing because of all the bad publicity. These are only a few examples of how bad Jim Eischens is and I have also read more articles and seen news reports about him.

Jim Eischens is indeed the owner of Remington Campus Apartments LLC they simply don't put Twin Cities Housing stamp on the property in order to avoid bad publicity. I too had problems with this terrible complex and found counsel in U of M legal services to deal with my issues. U of M legal services pointed out that Jim Eischens in fact has been paying the property tax for Remington Campus Apartments since 1999. He's not listed as the official owner but just so happens to pay all property tax on the property.

I've been digging around looking for information on Eischens for a while. The manager, Yolanda Wolfe is indeed connected to Jim Eischens as well as a lawyer and several family members. He has become very good at hiding his identity, but I have found 92 properties in the U of M area that are attached to him in some way. Look out for these liars!
