Nice enough, but not worth the money

I lived in Ridgewood Arches for almost two years. In that time, I lived with the daily disturbances of my neighbors above me. After complaining to the apartment manager, I was told that there's nothing he would do about it and even took the side of the noise makers. The walls, floors and ceilings are paper thin - expect noise 24-hours a day.

On a positive side, the apartment works very well. Though small, the kitchen has a lot of cabinet storage space and the dishwasher is a great inclusion. The bathrooms have a large mirror that pretty much takes up one wall and has a counter in front of it, so it makes it convenient for two people to get ready at the same time.

Closet space is also nice for such a small apartment. There is a large closet in the bedroom, and a slightly smaller closet in the hall. There is also a linen closet by the bathroom that is quite deep and can store more than you'd think.

Parking is an issue for a couple of reasons. The spots are quite small and the lines that were painted to tell you which spot is yours are so faint, that often your neighbors will park in your space or take up too much room so that you can't fit in. I was told in March that the lines were going to be repainted, but it's now almost August and nothing has been done.

The pool and the fitness room are both major benefits for an apartment in the Uptown area. Many a good time was had around the pool and is a great way to meet your neighbors.

This apartment complex could be a lot better if the management was a bit more selective of the people they rent to. It seems that they let just about anybody stay there. I had a neighbor that was notorious for domestic disturbance calls with the Police, but was never evicted. What does it take''''

Thank goodness my boyfriend lives in a bigger, quieter apartment so that I can move out of the Arches!
