I lived at Ridgewood for a little over 2 years and had mixed reviews. I decided on this property due to location and price right after graduating from college. I think it was $650 then with a parking spot and heat included. The apartments are laid out well and I was given new carpet and counters. It is a nice starter apartment for one person, but not much room for two people.
A couple issues I faced:
* parking - ok in the summer, but in the winter watch out - they plow the lot and leave the piles of snow in certain parking spots making them even smaller than they already are. I feel for the guy with the pickup truck.
* snow removal - they don't like to get up too early to shovel the sidewalks so my roommate - in his dress clothes - had to walk through high snow to get to his car on the street - not cool
* maintenance - ok - except if your radiator breaks and/or leaks don't expect them to hurry to fix it ... I think my apartment was ripped apart for over a week when they said it would take 2-3 days - not very happy on that one
* rent - my rent went up to $690 in the time I was here - there were at least 6-7 vacant apts. in my building and they were still raising rent, obviously not working to well since everyone was moving out
* managment - the old manager Anna was awesome - but Karl is a mess - usually looks like he just got ran over by a car
Although there is a lot of negativity above, my stay was pretty good. No safety concerns being a female on the 1st floor or noise concerns. Most residents were cool about turning down the music when you asked.
