Unforgettable, that's what you are........................

This was our first apartment as a married couple. The apartment was in excellent condition when we moved in.
The property managers at the time of move-in
were friendly and responsive. We had no problems with the apartment for them to solve anyway.
We paid our rent on time and things were perfecto in general. Then it came time to move out and a whole 'nother situation came to be:
All set to move out and into a house when our closing date fell through - we had to
unexpectedly stay in the apartment another 4 days.
We agreed to pay rent for these days, of course, but for some reason the owner of the building, Mrs. Bigos, decided
to change the rules of the game and not give us our deposit back due to this unforseen problem.
Several phone calls and threats later, she cooled down and agreed to only withhold our deposit and not charge us an additional month's rent because she was being "nice".
Ok, now, Bigos means "meat stew" in Polish.
You figure out the rest. That's also code for "watch-out-there-will-be-a-surprise-in-the-end".
I usually love surprises, but this one was a real kick in the pants, given we were such good tenants; the managers lauded us several times for how clean the apartment was afterward (I even spackled the few holes I had made in the walls).
Another thing to watch out for: the neighborhood is awful. Count on having your
car stereo stolen!
