I live in the building on 2011 3rd Ave S, up on the third floor overlooking the courtyard. I can say that I really haven't had any of the issues that everyone else is complaining about. I think that people forget that in a community as large as Stevens, the building you live in will determine your experience. The apartment is a bit warm in the winter, but I just open some windows and it's fine. When I signed the lease, I was told I could have a dog (only to find out later that I live in a dog-free building...sad times...) Other than that, It's been more than acceptable.

I have plenty of parking, get the quarterly phone calls, and the rental manager has been incredibly understanding with some payment mis-haps. The only run-ins I've had with crime include my car getting broken into in February and I overheard a woman telling a cop that her purse got stolen (as I was walking into my building.) But to the area's defense, I had instances like this happen to roommates when I lived in the 'burbs. I think some of the negative comments come from people who might be frightened by diversity...There have been a handfull of times where people have asked me for money as I was leaving my car, but it's not that common of an occurance.

This has been my first solo-apartment and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Now that the Acadia has moved, I'm a bit sad, though. I've never been able to hear my neighbors, either. It's a very quiet building and I would most definitely recommend 2011 3rd Ave S to anyone. The below ratings are reflecting on my building. I did look at a couple of other places in the community when I first moved in and there are some pretty shabby buildings in the community. I've included some pictures of my place from when I first moved in and a pic I took in the spring by the outside of my place.

You are the renter yourself. I've seen these pictures posted through rent.com.

I totally agree w/ you. Any complainers need to move to a suburb. This is the city.
