This is a great place! (Only one big complaint.)

I have read many of the reviews on this site and feel that many of them do not adequately portray the overall opinions of the Stone Arch Apartments. If you are interested in living here and looking at this site as a source, I would recommend looking at several apartment ratings on this site. You'll find most of them are negative. People who have a negative experience look for outlets to express their grief. Unfortunately, its not the other way around. Although there are some negative aspects to Stone Arch (as with every apartment complex) the positive aspects are overwhelming in comparison.
Several reviews have mentioned the fact that Stone Arch offers section 42 housing as a negative, which is housing for MODERATE incomes. The people that think this way are usually the pretentious and elitist few that are too good to look people in the eye in the elevator. Yes, there are a few people living here that could be labeled as "unscrupulous", but honestly, what apartment complex doesn't' Overall, I've never seen the police here, I've never seen any vandalism, and I've never felt unsafe on the inside or outside. Stone Arch Apartments are in one of the safest parts of the city.
People that complain about neighbor noise have a point, but obviously have never lived in an apartment complex. When you live in a place where there could be people on six sides, there could potentially be noise! Ironically enough, in the two years I've lived here, I've heard my neighbor once nailing pictures on our shared wall. I occasionally hear people passing in the hall, but only from my living room and never from my bedroom.
There are a few workers at Stone Arch that are substandard, but the good ones make up for this. Most of the personel there know me and my dog by name and always say hello with a smile. They are quick to answer any questions and they geninuely seem like they care. Stone Arch hosts several parties and appreciation nights a year and are always very thorough with communication. The Stone Arch Apartment area was in chaos with the 35W bridge collapsed. During this time, Stone Arch hired security 24/7 for their parking lot and even hired a mental health worker for that stressful time that was free for the residents. What other apartment complex would ever do that'
Maintenance and the housekeepers are simply amazing. Everything is new and quick to be fixed should something ever break.
The negatives do exist, however minimal. Parking is simply too expensive. And residents have little choice when it comes to cable and internet. Also, a few weeks ago, they replaced everyone's shower heads in an effort to be more "green." This is obviously to save more money and the residents had no choice.
Overall this place is wonderful. It sits beautifully near the Stone Arch Bridge and right on Main St, which is home to some of the prettitest and unique places in Minneapolis. I am renewing my lease for a third year and couldn't be happier.
Addition: Now that I am nearing the end of my lease, I have one huge complaint. They have shown my apartment so many times to prospective renters, that it's starting to get absurd. They say they try to give you 24 hours notice but they hardly ever do. Their typical process is to tape a note on my door in the evening time without knocking or any other form of communication. So I've had to form a habit of checking my door several times at night to make sure they're not coming at noon the next day. It's monumentally irritating.
