So Far I Love It!

I've been in my apartment for five months now, and I am very happy with my experience thus far.
The good:
- My kitchen is huge! The floor plans vary, so kitchen sizes will too. But I definitely lucked out with a very large, open kitchen.
- The windows are huge and let me take in the beautiful view of the river.
- The apartment complex is dog-friendly. They even have a treat jar in the front lobby. The dog park is a big plus for me.
- My bedroom is gigantic, and so are all of the closets. There is a walk-in closet for each bedroom, a walk-in pantry in the kitchen, and linen closet in my hallway.
- The heated underground parking is very nice to have in the winter
- The location is awesome, very close to downtown and 5 minutes walking distance from the U of M
- The staff are very helpful. They have a 24-hour pager to call when the office is closed, and they have always called me back within 10 minutes, even at 4 in the morning. If there's a problem, someone comes to fix it in less than a half hour.
- The building is kept in great condition, there are always people painting or planting or washing the windows.
The bad:
- Sound insulation between the floors is not ideal. I definitely had to get used to it, but once I did it stopped bothering me. This is not an issue for the ground-level units or floor 5 by the way; it only affects people on floors 2-4.
- There are a lot of dogs around, and sometimes they have accidents in the elevator. I'm not bothered by it because I have a dog, and I understand that accidents do happen. But if you're not into dogs, it could get on your nerves.
- The lighting is weird. There are no overhead lights in my living room, and my bathroom is a bit dim. This can obviously be fixed with lamps, but it would have been nice to have at least one overhead light in the living room.
The positive aspects of this apartment definitely outweigh the negatives for me, so if you're interested in living here, please ask for a tour. You'll get to see the weight room, the underground garage, the laundry rooms, etc. You will also see any units you're interested in.

sounds like management.
"please ask for a tour"
noise isn't an issue for "ground floor units or floor 5"
how would you know this unless you have lived on both floors? why should you have to "get used" to any of the noise? get a place that doesn't have such crappy walls and you won't have to "get used" to any noise whatsoever.

Um, I'm not management, why the heck would management list negative aspects of living somewhere? I'm a 20 year old college student (with excellent grammar and spelling because I'm an English major, if that's what raised your concerns).
If you had paid attention to my review, the noise between walls was not my issue. I said the noise between FLOORS could be a problem.
And I know about the noise not being a problem on certain floors because I've gotten to know other people who live here and talked to them. You sound kind of grouchy and paranoid, so this might be a strange concept to you. You see, the people who live on the ground floor have a concrete layer between their ceiling and the next floor (which I learned from someone who has lived here since the apartment opened). And obviously it's not a problem on the 5th floor because it's the top floor, there's nobody to make noise above it. Not exactly rocket science.
I recommended asking for a tour because I found the tour very helpful in making my decision between this place and some others. Seeing the facilities was very important to me before I committed to a lease.
I'm sorry you're apparently not into this apartment, but some of us do like living here :) Maybe you should find yourself a nice house in the middle of nowhere.
