A student could run a complex better... oh, wait...

Pros: cable, "free" "highspeed" internet access (up to 250MB in one 24 hour period then you get throttled), "free" utilities (electricity has an allowance that is set incredibly low), noise is rarely a problem, washer/dryer, dishwasher, fully furnished.

Cons: Management, Price(!), neighborhood, facilities/maintainence, halls are trashed and rarely cleaned up (they even went so far as to say that the apartments in that hall would be charged for any cleanup! Total bs.).

The management here is quite possibly the dumbest group of people I have ever met. Plus. the place is virtually run by students. What a terrible decision. I have no problem with students helping out, but you really should have someone who can work out disputes present at all times.

Another thing they don't like to tell you is that they love to play wordgames with leases. You've got to be careful with this one. "If you renew your lease, get a Visa Gift Card for $250. If all of your apartment renews, you each get another giftcard for $xxx" What they didn't tell you is that to renew, you have to have a 12month contract and be renewing the same thing. Their exact words were, "You're actually getting a completely new lease and contract as if one didn't exist before, so you aren't eligible for the gift cards" So we told them we want the referral bonus because we are referring two new people to two new contracts. They said no, that's not how it works. Word games people, word games.

My key for my mailbox broke near the beginning of the lease. I took it in and came back when they told me to a couple days later. No key. They had no idea what I was talking about. 5 "notes" and weeks later I finally was able to talk to someone who knew what they were doing.

The elevator was broken the day after move in day. I had a few larger items to move in a day or two later (namely a large tv, computer, and other items you don't want to lug up to the fourth floor). We went to the management what must have been a dozen times and nothing happened. Finally I explained that my mother (who has trouble with stairs) cannot even come up to my room when she comes to visit. We threatened legal action because this was supposed to be an accessible building. It was finally fixed. If you don't explain to them in clear terms what it means to violate a contract by not keeping up with maintainence, they will do NOTHING.

The price for parking is outrageous, to say the least. But at least it's safe if you are in a garage.

Now, I received a call telling me my rent was overdue and I'm being charged a late fee. Funny, I have automatic withdrawl. Apparently, they didn't take out the correct amount of money and now I'm being charged. This is not the first time this has happened. Another time they had taken out way too much money and instead of alerting me to this over the course of the 9 months I had lived there, they just held the money, and called me telling me my rent is going to be adjusted to a lower amount for the rest of the 12 months.

Don't let these people push you around. Don't let them fool you by nice furnishings and all the "amenities." It's a dump. STAY AWAY!!!
