Sad to Go - Graduating

In my two years here at U Commons, I loved it. My roommates were my biggest complaint, but I knew them before we moved in. The fact that this apartment complex is near campus, fully furnished and has real bath tubs is amazing. I lived at Melrose before coming here and I don't know why people live there. U Commons compares nothing to the dorms or Smelrose. I have closets built into the wall, windows that open, and bedrooms that don't feel like a prison. I encourage anyone to take a tour here. The only reason I am leaving is because I am graduating and going back to Wisconsin for grad school. Some of the other residents were disrespectful to the property, but that is expected from college housing. The maintenance staff is always there to fix something if it breaks and the management team is great, even if they have to enforce rules laid out in the lease. Yes, our apartment received a lease violation, but looking back it was well deserved. This place is great and I would recommend to anyone going to the University of Minnesota. I lived in the dorms my first year and I must say that U Commons is cheaper. You get 12 months in the lease and are not forced to get a meal plan. In the dorms you get 7 months and are forced to get a meal plan. Do the math. Don't live in the dorms. I'll miss this place. It was perfect for college.
