A couple of comments on previous reviews:
- Security: physical building security is bad, the plasma tv in the lobby was indeed almost stolen, several doors have been smashed and my bicycle was stolen from the underground parking (it was chained to the wall, but the lock was cut).
- Staff. Turnover in the office is quite high, some are good, some are not-so-good.

The Uptown City Apartments is attracting more and more of a young, partying crowd which makes it a very popular spot after the Uptown bars close. The action starts at 2:30 and can go until 5am, making the place a bit like a fraternity/sorority house. If this sounds attractive then the Uptown city apartments is for you. If you are more... uptight and will be annoyed by late night noise or party debris (beer cans, clothes, towels, cigarette butts) in the courtyard then think twice about moving here. (The hot-tub emergency alarm is deafening when drunken people bump against it, which will happen most weekends during the summer).

Say this stuff doesn't really bother you, are the apartments worth the huge price tags?

The hot tubs are a huge issue in the summer. It looks like a great amenity when you're initially touring the property, however, during the summer it is packed all night long (sunday, monday, tuesday nights, etc) with people drinking, smoking, yelling, hooting and hollering, etc. My apartment is on the 3rd floor and every night I close my windows, turn my fans on yet I can still hear all the kids partying out there. On Monday morning the complex looks like a total disaster area. Beer cans, cigarettes, pizza boxes, broken light fixtures, etc throughout the common areas. At 28, I think I'm too old to be living in this place.
