Find a Better Place

I have been at WestWind for two years, and find the facilities to be, in general, satisfactory.

Yes, you can hear through the walls, like any apartment. Yes, they will raise your rent roughly $100 if you don't sign a 12 month lease upon renewal. These are all standard practice with every apartment. Poor management, however, should not be standard practice at any apartment.

The management has changed two times (that I know of) since I moved here. I now have experience with three separate management groups. All of them have been less than adequate. I had hopes for this new group, but alas, no.

Rented garage spaces are frequently rented to others, although by rights the space was paid for by you. This results in you having to enter the garage, realize the spot you paid for is taken, park outside, and then find mgmt personnel to get you another space. This occurs because of the management's inability to track who has what stall.

Maintenance is frequently performed on the parking lot with little to no notice. I have no confidence in the mgmt's ability to inform me of upcoming maintenance events, so that I may avoid my car being towed. This may become especially troublesome to residents who travel frequently for business or otherwise. If they ever do make good on their threat to tow vehicles left during maintenance, the impound lot will make a tidy sum.

Most discouraging is the inability of the mgmt to retain current information on their residents, such as amount of rent and other very important data. This, as you might imagine, can cause some aggravating trouble for the resident.

I fully expect the mgmt to be troublesome upon my departure, which I guarantee you will be upon my next lease renewal. If they discover that I have written this, I expect my damage deposit to be nickle and dimed from me because, well, of the level of professionalism I have witnessed thus far.

I have given the mgmt many chances to redeem themselves from their many foibles, and I do believe I am done with it. Save yourself time and hassle, do not move here.
