I've lived here almost 2 years. The manager and some of her staff treat residents as though we are a nuisance rather than their bread and butter. You have to schedule appointments to visit the office. I complained about accumulated dust in the laundry room and unclean machines. The manager dismissed my request to let me show her the mess, saying, "I'm too busy right now." Too busy is an oft used phrase when you telephone requests or complaints.
Security is a big zero when staff and outside service providers enter your apartment. Twice I've arrived home to discover my apartment unlocked and unattended. If anyone makes a complaint, you're assumed to be guilty. In my case, this hasn't been true. I simply have the misfortune of a grumpy, unhappy person living below me. I am a writer, very quiet and work from my home.
I am moving August 31, 2007. Meantime, I advise others to strongly consider other apartment complexes than Winnetka Village.

Everything the writer says is true. They are nice to you until you sign. They give you chocolate chip cookies but thats all. The garage or security door is always open. This place is always dirty and smelly. ANd don't forget the ants, silver fish, spiders and no-name bugs. Honestly- to see the management you HAVE to make an appointment, but not on mondays-wednesdays.
