I lived at winnetka village for one year. thinking of it now, it was the worst apartment experience EVER. The place was run by an older gal and her even older assistant helper. The guy below me was always complaining how loud I was...and I ended up wearing earphones near the end while listening to my tv. I lived on the 3rd floor, and the guy and his wife (whose name I STILL remember to this day) would bang on the ceiling if I coughed (I have asthma) and would report me to the office. The office lady would send me horrible notes saying that I was loud, however she never actually heard me herself. I did aerobics one early afternoon and I was reported for being loud jumping and stomping around. There is NO soundproofing at all in the walls or in the floors. I could hear my neighbors fart, burp, and laugh all the time. There was water damage in some of the halls on my floor with mold on the walls. And at the time that I lived there, just a few years back, they had a thing where they charged EVERY tenant to clean their carpets when they moved out. It was like 150.00 bucks. They said no matter if you carpet is clean looking or dirty they take it out of your deposit. I think the old bag that ran the place retired a few years after I moved out. Seriously...the price was great...but the horrible response to repairs (you had to set up an appointment to come into the office, you could never just come in to report a problem...for me it was my air conditioner never working right..crappy wall units)...and the NON EXISTENT SOUND PROOFING in the walls and floors made it hell for me. I have always been a very quiet person and never had people come over but I couldn't even play my television without getting reported. Thank GOD I no longer live there! I live in an awesome house now! whew!
