If I were single or childless, I would in general give this complex a thumbs up. However, I am raising a young child who still needs 2 naps a day. Although the location is great, I have found the complex too noisy and disruptive for my baby. The main problem is that the management team, though incredibly friendly and nice, lacks true management skills. If there ever is a problem, they often say, "Oh gee, I don't know. I'm sorry." I had asked them to keep me notified if they were going to do loud construction near my apartment. That way I could arrange my son's naps. Over a month ago, on a SUNDAY, they started working on the apartment above me. They didn't notify me. It was so loud that my ears started to ring -- my ceiling was shaking so hard that things fell off. When I called the office, the lady was completely confused. She finally found someone who knew what was going on, but they had no idea how long it would take. Eventually they told me it would only be a few days of work. Needless to say, there was someone up there hammering, sawing or something for nearly 3 weeks. When I went to the office to find out how much longer the work would go on, they had no clue that anyone was working on the apartment at all! Then, at 11 p.m. on a Tuesday, a janitor went into the apartment and started moving appliances around and vacuuming. It was loud enough to wake me, my baby and my husband (who is usually hard to wake!) My new neighbors have finally moved in and everytime they drop a cup or move their chairs, I hear it. I can hear my neighbors below watch CNN with Larry King. It's awful. We are leaving in a month and moving elsewhere and I can't wait. My husband, who is incredibly cheap, found this place so disagreeable that he bought us a house to move to. Considering how much they make you pay (and they will nickel and dime you given the chance), you'd think they'd do better.
