Awful experience - One of the building managers especially rude

Two major problems (can probably tolerate the rest)

1. EXTREMELY creaky floors/ceiling: This is a construction problem and Cedar Hills cannot do anything about it. Even people walking normally around their house sounds like loud thumping and creaking one level below. A person turning over in bed in the apartment above you, creaks the ceiling and wakes you up.

2. EXTREMELY rude manager: Not polite in the very least! Awful experience. My wife once asked this lady about how long it would take to replace the non-functional archaic microwave in our apartment. To this, she replied "The new microwaves come from China, do you expect me to go to China and find out how long it would take'". This lady cannot resolve disputes at all. After learning from the building management that nothing can be done about the creaky floors/ceilings, and after consulting with doctors and being prescribed sleep medicines for disturbed night sleep, we decided to drop *ONE* VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY POLITE NOTE to our upstairs neighbor to see if there's something they could do to help us. Next thing we know is the manager yelling at me on the phone about harassing all our neighbors (yes, plural!) and that they're receiving complaints from all our neighbors that we're being a nuisance to them. We were totally SHOCKED! Our apartment has a laundry room on one side, storage lockers on another and a wall that we don't touch that separates one neighbor from us on our level. The only neighbor we can think of is the one above us. It's ironic that they would accuse us of harassing them. And for some strange reason, this manager wouldn't take any of our story and even before hearing us out, she has made up her mind that we're at fault. And she goes to great lengths, making up stories along the way about how we repeatedly posted notes on their door, knocked on their doors, complained about their opening faucets and showering, and ALL our neighbors complaining about us... all of which are absolutely untrue! When I said that I'm not going to renew my lease if you treat me like this, very predictable to her nature, she says, "I don't care"!
It's almost as if she wants us out of there. I don't understand what it would take to get some respect and politeness out of this lady. Given the condition of the floors/ceilings of this apartment complex, I'd be surprised if ours is the first complaint she has heard about creaky roofs. And to not deal with this gracefully is a real shame.

We've been putting up with other miscellaneous problems... but when I look at some other apartment complexes my friends live in, these seem quite serious as well.

1. carpet bugs
2. old equipment (cooking range, dishwasher, A/C are all very old and don't work very well)
3. parking - Only one assigned spot in the underground parking garage. Outside parking is a nightmare. There's hardly any space left for parking in the evening and sometimes have to park away from the building. Don't know how safe that is.
4. From the outside, the buildings don't look very appealing to the eye... looks old and rundown.
5. Our nearest laundry room was closed for over a month for some minor repairs.
6. They would routinely increase rent every lease period citing reasons like increased heating expenses, whereas, it has only gotten warmer these past few years.
7. The building managers in the office are not available all the time. Even though their office hours are 10am to 7pm... the office was locked on several occasions when we tried to contact them.
8. With such a poor customer service experience, we hesitate to even take our problems to them and instead suffer.

I WILL *NOT* RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, CEDAR HILLS APTS, MINNETONKA.

I am also a resident that has had to start sleeping medication due to the creaking floors. I have also complained about the lack of lighting in the courtyard! My elderly mother tripped and fell on the sidewalk, suffering a deep bone bruise on the knee and several abrasions and sprained wrist! When I called to the office about the lights, lady said that they are all working and she hasn't had any other complaints. I was in the room next to my roommate half hour prior when he called and complained about the lights. She opening lies. BTW, Those lights were fixed 2 days later after I called the police and state health department and filed complaints with the city.
