Could be better...much better

When we moved in to the West building, the management was pretty helpful and maintenance seemed to be on the ball when handling requests. However, the incompetence of some of the management staff has severely impacted the way I feel about Cedar Hills. Our lease paperwork (with SSN, employment info, etc) has been misplaced *TWICE*, once when we transferred to a larger apartment in the same building, and again when we informed the office that we were moving. I'm appalled by the disorganization in the office, but hopefully that will change soon for future residents - the previous manager left (or was fired, hopefully), and the person who took over is one that was consistently helpful before. Not only were they disorganized, but I called several times to complain about the smell of smoke seeping into my apartment from my downstairs neighbors and about an ant problem (why there were ants infesting a clean third floor apartment is still beyond me). All of my messages went unanswered, and nearly every time I tried to call or go to the office, they were "on the property".

I agree with other posters that the apartments are really outdated - the appliances are pretty ancient, but I will admit that they are in good condition for how old they are. Also, I never had an issue with parking, but that could be different from the others who said they did because I lived in the West building instead of the East. Oh, and the upkeep outside is sub par. Be VERY careful walking around during the winter time because you will fall (it's not a matter of 'if' but 'when').

In all, I would say that Cedar Hills is certainly not the absolute worst place to live because the rent was pretty affordable and they allow cats, but I would caution potential renters to look at all the other options available before signing a lease here.

PS - I gave service only two stars based on my previous experiences, but management was already starting to improve by the time I left.
