The Cliffs of Minnetonka formerly Cliffs at Ridgedale

I've lived in the Cliffs for 3 months. When we arrived our dishwasher was broken & several parts were melted. It took numerous calls to get a maintenance worker over. Then, 1 month to get the parts ordered/replaced.
When we moved in my roommates bedroom carpet had a huge stain, which she called to have cleaned up probably 4 times. When they finally came they did so without notice and she came home to some freaky guy standing in her bedroom w/ a rag in his hand. When the stain was finally clean, she received a call from the office stating that the maintenance people had come and couldn't clean the stain since her room was a mess. She called back and told them the stain had already been cleaned...2 weeks ago.
They don't follow through with their maintenace crew apparently. And for some reason, they think they can barge into your apartment any time of day.
My problem is with the office. During my tour them claimed to have dry cleaning service. When I dropped my laundry off at the office they said it would be back in 2 days. I came back before work to pick up my clothes and it wasn't done. I called for 2 weeks. 2 weeks! It was crazy. Then, I finally got a call that they had it. Then, I got a message that they had my drycleaning but it wasn't done. They had kept it in a bag in the back office and misplaced it, never giving it to the drycleaning service for 1 month. It was awful.
Usually the office workers look at you like a deer in headlights or they ask you questions trying to prove your points innaccurate or wrong.
I love my apartment. It's spacious, quiet, and I love the free workout rooms. However, management does not deliver. No welcome package, maintenance follow-through, or security.
True story: My neighbor got his vintage convertible stolen from the garage! It was found stripped for parts in NE Minneapolis. Scary. My boyfriend came over and his chrome hubcap was stolen in the middle of the outside parking lot! In plain view of all the apartments. They would have stolen his wheels if there hadn't been wheel locks. There needs to be more security patroling the area.
One day the office called and informed us that they lost our master key. They wanted to copy one of ours for themselves. Freaky. Where the hell is that key' Who knows who has it. My neighbor said the same thing happened to him and that he was replacing the locks on his own because he didn't trust them. So, someday we run the risk of having a total psycho enter our apartment and do who knows what.
I'd say if you're sure nothing will ever break in your apartment, you don't mind if freaky people come in your home, and security isn't an issue...then The Cliffs might work for you.

I am writing on behalf of a former tenant of The Cliffs. She was severely burned by scalding hot tap water in July 2007. I am investigating whether The Cliffs' management operated the hot water system responsibly. If you had concerns about the water being too hot, I would appreciate hearing from you. Phone: (612) 250-8891. E-mail: joel@KosLawFirm.com. Thank you.
