You can get a hell of a lot more than this place can offer.
First, the location sucks. There is nothing within reasonable walking distance. And if you did choose to walk, you are on the corner of 169 and Minnetonka Blvd, so there is dangerous high speed traffic at all times.
Second, the location sucks. You have a VERY active rail line one one side of the property and it will wake you and rattle you and drown out your peace and quiet if you ever open your windows or patio door.
Third, the location sucks. You have a major artery of the Minneapolis area running about 500 yards from your windows and patio. It's a concrete highway and there's the overpass of the aformentioned rail line. So the sound is much louder because of the concrete and the elevated roadway.
Fourth, it just so happens that this is also one of the approach lanes to the MSP airport. The noise from the planes is less than the train and the highway, but yet it's another reason not to pay $1000 each month.
Fifth, the management is an overbearing management style and will threaten and intimidate you often. It's more of a halfway house than a "luxury" apartment. You can do this or that, but you are definately not allowed to do many simple things. Perhaps that's apt living everywhere. However, the drill instructor mentality of the management is sad and very unprofessional. However, the marching order is to make money for the owner of the complex...not to make you happy.
Sixth, once or twice a year, your car, while parked in their undergound parking structure, will be broken into, and you will not have any recourse even though it is the apartments psuedo security...or lack of any securtiy, that allowed it to happen.
Do yourself a favor, get a better deal for your hard earned money elsewhere. There is no community there whatsoever. It is a money making complex and that is the bottom line with the management. If you still wish to rent there, make sure they replace that nasty cheap carpeting in there. It is the cheapest carpeting and within a week of your moving in, it will be all matted down and looking like the crap it is.
Good luck!

Uh, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the apartments haven't been moved since they were built, meaning that you should have realized all the location problems BEFORE you moved in. You may have other legitimate complaints about the management or safety, but you can't complain about the location. YOU picked the place knowing where it was.

I agree with Anonymous - you CHOSE to move there. Did you not pay attention to where they were located? I looked at them and thought they were very nice - spacious, love the granite and the high ceilings, oversize windows and rich-looking details were awesome! The only thing I didn't like was the lack of parking available for guests. I only decided not to move their because they were a little higher priced than I was looking for. Otherwise, I have heard from people who live there that they are pretty decent. When you rent, you need to look at more than just a "quick checklist" - you need to evaluate your "must haves" and "cannot live with" and compare BEFORE you sign a lease and move in. If you have doubts before moving in, don't do it! Go somewhere else.
