While we lived there (August 2004-April 2006), the Fire Department was at the complex weekly at least, nearly every other day.

The first week we lived at Poly, some kids were playing catch with a basketball over the hood of my car. When I asked them to stop, their Grandmother yelled AT ME for talking to her kids. Other issues with the residents included a possible wife beating, multiple police visits to the neighbors, residents accusing us of using laundry late (when we worked late)... too many to remember all.

Parking and the safety of the parking areas was a very interesting story. While we lived there, the parking lot near the pond flooded twice during rainstorms (and then for several days afterward) causing a lot of damage and probable complete loss to at least 50 cars. As far as safety, there was also a manhunt going on the grounds of the apartment toward the end of the stay, which tells you about some of the safety issues. Our apartment also overlooked the front door of our building, and we witnessed several drug deals take place right on the sidewalk.

The grounds and apartments were not kept up well. The sidewalk light was out the entire length of our lease. The exterior doors were constantly jammed with pennies or the locks were just completely broken.

The staff in the office were a bunch of "not nice females." When moving in, nearly everything they said was a lie. The workout room did not improve as promised, but in fact got worse. Weight machines were never fixed when broken and no new machines were added. The hot tub was constantly filthy! Back to the staff... once we moved in they would not give us the time of day. The only thing they cared about was the rent check! When we complained to security about neighbor issues, they never responded or got back to us (answering service for the phone was always reached, even though this was a cell phone for security only!).

The maintenance staff was responsive to our needs after repeated requests in the office (not these guys' responsibility). When we moved in, the paint was not dry in the apartment and we were told to wait to move in. This was at 3 pm on the first of the month. We had no heat for over one week in January when the temperatures fell below 10 degrees and we requested emergency maintenance the first day. We used our own space heaters for an entire heat to keep ourselves warm. They were able to fix our sliding door and heating once they finally received notice from the previously mentioned office staff.

As was stated in a previous review, the only good thing about Polynesian Village is that it is cheap... that is it. If you like living next to noisy, disrespectful neighbors, this is your future place. If you like feuding with management, welcome home. If you enjoy seeing your car float down the street, Polynesian Village is right for you! I would not recommend this as a place to live, unless you are in extremely times financially!

You know what, I used to live there 4 years ago, but we've managed to escape "the dungeon". It sounds to me that the place has not changed a single bit, which actually does not surprise me at all. I mean the trouble that we had to go through there, even my brother was thrown threw a glass window living there, kids stealing other kids bikes, ETC. this place is paradise compared to hell, but me personally would most deff. not live there ever. Not even in my next life. Ex Polly Renter

I know exactly what you are talking about POLY SUCKS!! my car was broken into, those stupid office ladies are so rude One even CHASED me out of the office and all the way to my car just to get a piece of paper! none of our complaints were ever taken care of! Even in extreme financial hardships I would not reccomend this place to anyone!!!! Go live under a bridge before you live at poly!
