A great community in the northern regions of the Twin Cities

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I live at Cedric's Landing now for almost a year in the building that was finished in 2004, and this place is great! The building is clean and the appliances in the kitchen are state of the art, like an electric cooker, a self-cleaning oven and a decent sized microwave.
The property is conveniently located close to the I694 and 36 highways. However, you don't hear any sound of the traffic inside. Outside on the balcony you will slightly hear traffic of the I694.
I have lived in and researched many apartments in the northwest, north and norteast of the Twin Cities and so far I found out that only this community offers in the heated underground garage a decent wash area with warm water and vacuum cleaner for free. Even soap is supplied and for free. No coins and no limits.
The heated underground garage has two doors, which is a plus. There are communities out there that have only one door to the underground garage. If that single door is broken and your car is inside, which happened to me before, you are stuck at home.
The place is absolutely not expensive considering the "higher end" amenities you get for it, like the full washer and dryer in the unit, all possible appliances in the kitchen and the underground heated garage, all in a very good shape. Water, trash, sewer, and airco/heating are all included in the price too.
Only a few apartment communities offer a preferred employer program, Cedric's Landing is one of them. Ask for it. If you qualify, you will receive great discounts on the application fee (free) and security deposit (reduces to about 25% of the original price).
Unless you live in a house not attached to anything else, I think you will always hear once in a while your neighbors. This is not different at Cedric's Landing. I have experienced myself at other locations that the location of your unit inside the building has influence on the noise level you may experience. If you are close to a stairwell door, garage door or elevator, it's very likely you may hear those. Also intermediate floors are in general not the best choice. So my general advice when searching for an apartment go for the first or highest floors and stay away from stairwell doors, garage doors and elevators. Regarding the noise level at Cedric's Landing I would rate it as very low. Cats and other "low volume" animals are allowed, but no dogs. Another big plus is the positioning of the airco and heating devices in the units. These are located in the ceiling where your walk in closet and washer and dryer are. So no noisy airco/heating devices in the living room or in one of the bedrooms. A unit offers many power outlets as well as multiple phone, cable and network connections.
The management staff is friendly and any maintenance is quickly executed.
This is a great community in the northern regions of the Twin Cities!
