Bad Management

We have had a number of issues with the management. We had a neighbor issue that made my family feel as if they were in danger. We reported it to the management and were treated as if we made the whole thing up or blew it out of proportion. I do not know how many times the operations manager said to me, "This irritates me/I'm frustrated." Hello, it is your job and it isn't mine to listen to how you might not be cut out to get it done.

I'm confused though...was management trying to kick in your door? Was management scaring your wife and child? Did management threaten you in the elevator? It seems to me you are placing the blame on the wrong party. Management can not shelter you from psycho neighbors...as an adult it is your responibility to get along with them, or move elsewhere.
I moved to Jefferson a few months ago, and have found management to be pretty great. So far my neihbors seem normal and nice. But if they turn out to be otherwise, I dont think I would fault the management.

It is managements responsibility to provide a safe and nonhostile environment and to rectify any situation that comes up, that is why you pay so much to live there. I lived here for a year, and it was such an unprofessional place.

Why do management companies claim to do background checks on residents etc. and do not take the issues around safety real seriously? Look, you might see this different if it were your wife and daughter that felt as if they were under attack by a hostile neighbor. Do not worry, I told this twit what was and wasn't acceptable the minute I raced home and what would happen if she ever put my family in that position again. I am confident that it won't re-occur. You are right, to an extent, you have to take on the responsibility of communicating and setting boundaries up to including what ever it takes to defend the safety of your family. However, when it hits the fan you shouldn't be treated as if you completely blew it out of proportion and are obviously lying your pants off. Seriously, we don't invent or cause drama. For the most part, Most tennants are probably safe, that is of course if you don't end up moving into my unit and making what might be preceived as excessive noise after we move out in a month.

Got to agree with the second person's post. I have lived here for almost a year and absolutely LOVE management. The girls in the office are great. So far no neighbor problems, my suggestion would be to talk to your neighbor and tell them to act like adults.

Anyone who LOVES management here is dissolusioned. It took more than one year for them to repair the roof after the hailstorm of 2008. The noise here is unbelieveable, mostly because there's no insulation in the walls. The windows are bargain-basement crappy things, and my louvered blinds shake when there are winds over 20 MPH, even with the windows locked shut. They claim to be "The Twin Cities' Premier Apartment Comumnity." I pay over $1,200/mo., and it's like living in some low-class, second-rate apartment community. Trailer-trash all around me. Management is a bad joke. Construction is shabby. They distributed a lame newsletter for a while, then quit. They host "get-togethers" with cheap Kool-Aid drinks and cookies on occassion to try and get the clientele together. Lame excuses for any problems. You want to hear your neighbors pull up outside in the parking lot with your windows shut, or a neighbor fart in the hallway outside your apartment, move in here. Crappy apartments, and even worse management. They have this "elitist" attitude. They don't even allow any Internet contact through their website. Chances are when you call the telephone number, you're going to get a recorded response. What does that tell you about them?

It's true, this apartment isn't awful but it is WAY over priced for what you get. The apartments literally have no noise proofing. If you have experience with dry-walling, check it out. Cut a small square out of your side of a unit separating wall and look inside... its empty as can be. Don't get me wrong, every apartment on the west side of Minneapolis I have lived in has been like this, but Jefferson??s charges WAY more than any other place I can find around here.
I have always felt the ladies in the office are nice but that??s about it. They aren??t terribly good at any aspect of their job except renting out the places.
Overall I would say this place is a 2. If they cut the rent in half it would be a 4 but as it is, you will pay more than a mortgage on a $250,000 house to live in a nice 2 bedroom unit that isn??t insulated at all and have a motley assortment of "trashy" people and very nice people.
