Renter Beware

Where do I start the list of issues is so long. One, the heat& air vents are located on the outside wall only. So,if you have the Hamline floor plan as I do it has the den and master bath on the interior walls with no ventilation what so ever. Summer in these rooms is extremely hot. I am in sales and virtual office - I find that I have to run the air to freeze and run the ceiling fans all day/all night in order to work in the den. And even then is still quite hot. In essence this operates with all the draw backs of window air conditioning - poor circulation and loud noise. But of course Bigos management will say that it is a design flaw of the builder that is too expensive to fix. No discount given for the rent even though it costs me more in electric bills to try to use the space I am paying rent for.
Two, the onsite management is not very responsive and spends most of their time trying to find new renters. Three, as a renter you have no choice as to your internet or cable provider due to the way the buildings were built. Visi the internet provider is extremely slow and for the speed at $21.95 is a rip off. DirecTV is the only choice for TV. Four, take a look at the interior of the buildings. The first floor foyer area was re-decorated but not the rest of the hallways for floors. Very tacky. Five, take a look at the party room. This re-decorate seems right out of Ikea and not what I would call the look of luxury, executive living as they bill the complex. Six, in the 5 1/2 years that I have lived here the outside windows on my third floor unit have not been cleaned. They are very dirty and if I could clean them myself I would. Seven, the hot water does not get very hot. In the winter when my master bath is so cold due to no heat I run the bath with totally hot water in order to take a bath without freezing. Eight, they upgraded the light fixtures however, they selected some very dark fixtures so the rooms are now very dark. Nine, my unit faces 45th Ave and get a lot of street noise both from 45th and 169. Ten, the plumbing in my master bath has been an issue. The sink clogs several times per year and I am very careful to not let hair go down the drain. Eleven, my kitchen floor is uneven so my refrig is uneven & wobbles. Twelve, while this has not happened to me yet. I have seen maintenance in the garage often lately working on hot water heaters. When I asked what was happeing I was told "that the hot water heaters are dropping like flies". Thirteen, The garage door has been broken several times. Each time the door has been wide open either overnight or longer which means anyone can walk in. So much for secured entry. I recommend that you consider all these issues before you make a decision. Had I known just a couple of these issues I would never have moved in. Since moving is so expensive I stayed longer than I should have and finally hit my brick wall. So much so that I paid all the penalties (over $2000) to break my lease and get out of this place. RENTER BEWARE. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
