Stayed here in 2003, would never stay here again

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005

I stayed in Rochester Village in 2003 for a grand total of three months. I got out of there as quickly as I could! I chose a "remodeled" apartment over the "vintage" (read as "NOT remodeled"). While the apartment looked good, all the remodeling did was cover up the flaws from an aging apartment community with a coat of paint and new (cheap) carpet.

Issues I had:
1. I lived in a second floor apartment. It was IMPOSSIBLE for me to move without my downstairs neighbor knowing where I was because the floorboards creaked so badly!

2. The power cut out several times in three months.

3. When they "remodeled" the apartment, they quite literally cut corners on the install. I noticed several times a week whenever it would get very warm out, I'd get a musty odor from around my kitchen -- it turned out that when they installed the Cabinet and sink, they cut a jagged 1 foot by 1 foot hole (looks like they did it BY HAND or with a HAMMER) in the back of the cabinet and the sheetrock for the pipes to go through. NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO FIX THIS, so this large hole was letting air from who knows where into the apartment.

4. When I told the Management about the above, the maintenence guys came out, wrote "hole under sink" and did NOTHING about it. The management did nothing about this! I had to stuff garbage bags through the hole to make it go away!

5. The hot water heater was easily drained in a 10 minute shower in the middle of Summer.

6. The aparments have very thin walls. I could hear my neighbors watching TV, or their stereos. I thought they were playing them too loud, but when I went downstairs to talk about it, it turns out the floor is just so bad at insulating sound that their "normal" volume came straight up to my apartment.

7. The entry ways were musty and even had the smell of cigarette smoke to them. Once I found a smouldering cigarette butt on the stairs INSIDE the entry way. The management people did nothing about it after I told them someone was smoking inside the foyer.

This place is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Qlkxv6lfLuuXn3BrtpO7
