I need to up-date the reviews. I am 22 years old now. I lived at Rosemall Apartments for a year and three months. I had to move out because my roommate got married, thus her husband moved in. My honest opinion about it was that I LOVED IT! The Pros: I felt safe; when we moved in the management said that they were planning on getting secured access. It took awhile, but the important part is that they did it! I loved my neighbors; I still visit them. The pool was always clean, open, and nice. The area was always well lite. They have nice grills! I always had a parking space near the building (and it gets cold in MN so that was nice). They plow parking-lots in the winter; they give notices when you have to move your car. One time I forgot and they gave me a call an hour before it was suppose to be plowed to remove my car or it would have been towed; how nice!!! I love the management, Sherrie is awesome and organized. Carlos, the maintenance, was great; he lives there. He worked so hard and got things fixed in a timely manner. Before I moved out, I even gave his son a desk of mine for all the hard work he has done for us inapt ladies. My roommate is deathly afraid of bugs and we lived on ground level, so they sprayed often for us willingly and it worked. Our apartment was clean and comfortable. The groundskeeper lives there too and they are so nice (we lived below them). They let us borrow their vacuum and we shared treats often. The location is perfect! You can walk to Super Target, the strip mall, the gas station, Cub Foods, and the Rosedale Mall is super close! They have a summer get together to meet new residents, unfortunately my roommate and I were busy both times. They have easy access to the dumpster and recycling. The landscaping was beautiful and they always did a great job keeping it up! The Cons: Melanie was a manager assistant there and sometimes we all wondered what she was smoking, but she is young and probably not going to stay long; always talk to Sherrie about something! The windows are thin, so my blinds melted because I hung a blanket up to keep out the lights since I like sleeping in a cave. But they are more than willing to replace them for no penalty! The floors are thin, so we heard our upstairs neighbors walking a lot, but they were huskier and they tried to be quiet...we got used to it quick and it worked out. The washer and drier are clean and always working (if not...YOU call the company) yet they costed $1.25 to wash and dry (expensive). My roommate and I just air dried! The price went up since I left due to property tax I'm assuming. For two bedrooms is now $815. Our comcast cost (cable and wireless) costed less than $60 a month. Our Xcell Energy bill costed less than $30 a month. We were college students and interns; we made it happen. If you want a balcony (they looked nice) it was $100 each month (I believe). A garage was $50 a month, but we didn't need/want/have one. Overall, I enjoyed it, I miss it, and if I was staying in MN I'd still be living there, but I'm going to TX for grad school. These apartments are perfect for well-behaved college students, families, single parents, and the elderly. It was always quiet and welcoming. Enjoy it! :)

this does not sound at all like the Rosemall apartments I lived in for two years!

That's NOT the Rosemall apartments I know. I'll agree the grounds are nice. The pool and grills are cool. But the management is NOT good. Sherrie is quick to become very defensive and standoff-ish if you report any issues or concerns, and will make an effort to make your stay miserable if you irritate her. Carlos is their only onsite repairman, and is overworked. Melanie comes off as rather clueless, and seems to be a stand in for whenever Sherrie isn't around. The management is definitely against its tenants, and it makes it unpleasant to live there. Hell, its $100 if you need to get a key replaced!
Its unfortunate, because Rosemall Apartments are close to EVERYTHING, and the grounds are very attractive. But its not worth the hassle of its management.

Hmmm...that is interesting. I'm glad to know the flip side of things. I guess we was pretty blessed to be on Sherrie's good side. Yes, Carlos is over worked and doesn't get paid enough. Yes, Melanie needs some help by the way she lost our rent money once by putting it into a folder and had my roommate and I worked up for almost an entire day; thankfully Sherrie found it and apologized. Yes, I believe the price for losing a key is expensive as so up a level with a balcony and garage. But we lived pretty cheap. I'm actually moving to Texas soon and the cost of living there is A LOT cheaper. My boyfriend and I are getting a one bedroom apartment within walking distance to his college plus water, trash, and INTERNET is included for a whole $515. It would have been $500 for 12 months, but we are only doing 6 months so it cost more. Thank you to the both of you for adding in your opinion. It is important for future tentants. I guess everyone is going to have a different experience hence their different perspectives. If one wants everything Rosemall has to offer, then just stay on Sherrie's good side...hahaha and don't make any deals through Melanie. Thanks again guys!

THE STAFF AND CHERIE IS VERY RUDE, COMES OFF WITH AN EASY GOING IMPRESSION BUT SHE WILL STUB YOU IN THE BACK EVENTUALLY. I love the location as well, but the walls are super thin and the construction of the building is very old, so you can hear noise from neighbors two doors away. The grounds are clean, pool is clean, maintenace staff does a pretty good job with request. I WILL never recommend renting a unit from these people unless you are blind, deaf and dumb for paying so much rent with complaining tenants. Noise level is quiet, but because the walls are SO THIN, you can hear everything. DO NOT RENT FROM HORNIG COMPANIES OR ROSEMALL APARTMENT,, HORRIBLE.
