not as bad as these reviews say it is...

my husband and I lived there for a year. We absolutely loved the area. The train near by was difficult to adjust to at first, but we got used to it eventually. It is very family friendly and animal friedly (we had a dog). The staff wasn't bad. We didn't have any problems with them. The bug problem wasn't as bad as everyone is complaining about. It wasnt' "infested". I mean, for the fair price that we paid for our apartment, it was very nice and the building and surrounding gronds were very well kept. I also don't understand why there was a problem with the curry smell. It was any stronger than any other types of food. I recall smelling pizza and cassarole dishe pretty strongly too. The diversity was a welcomed aspect to living there. The "foreigners" were friendly, smiled a lot, and for the most part kept quietly to themselves.
The only two things I didn't like about Midland were the one bedroom floor plans. I didn't like the bedroom so directly across from the entrance. Second, I didn't like the fact that they raised rent after each one year mark. That was the sole reason my husband and I left and will not go back. It didn't make sense for tenants who have been there to get charged more to stay. It seemed all backwards to me. We should have either had rent stay the same or have other incentives to stay. I don't think their excuse for "additional costs" to be the reason why costs had to keep going up each year. If they keep this up, they will not have tenants who stay there long enough to give Midland better reviews.
Aside, from that last factor, we would have enjoyed a longer stay at Midland. And I would only recommend Midland as long as rent doesn't continue to exeed your budget.
