808 Berry Place

Before moving into this apartment complex, take a look at other luxury apartment complexes in the Cities. For that matter, consider purchasing a condo or a house of your own -- you should be able to afford it if you are paying the full rent Dominium wants for these units. The low-income people at 808 Berry are indeed getting quite a deal, but anybody who's paying full rent most likely feels a bit... jacked' I do. I can hear my neighbors above me humping like jackrabbits, and that doesn't even mention the sound of their bass. The walls creak. The unit looks good at first, but underneath it's pretty shoddy. The garage is an ugly swirl. The help -- I mean the cleaning help -- tries to make conversation to you in the elevators and tends to mumble. The people who haul out the trash like to do it at approximately 7:45 in the morning, right when everybody who has a stall -- and pays for it -- is trying to roll out of the unit, and their little four wheel John Deer haulers tend to block traffic.
I would feel better in a place that actually takes into consideration the word: luxury. In fact, I'd live in a shabbier unit if it were soundproof.
Every morning -- Monday through Saturday -- I'm awakened by the noise of construction across the way. That's luxury' No. And when I complained they said there wasn't anything they could do. It's bunk.
That's my vent. Go live in a building with concrete.
Here's another example: they have the party room right below the weight/exercise room. Whenever somebody -- even a petite young woman -- hops on the treadmill, you and your friends get to hear their every stomp. It's insane. I can't believe they'd spend the money on all that facade and not even do a sound-check. The architect should be sued for malpractice and the company folded for pure greed.

You moved there knowing the place accross the street was under construction and now you complain. What a joke. If you get a job and got up before 8AM like the rest of us, maybe the trash company wouldn't bother you. Get over it. By the way, there is no such thing as a sound proof apartment. Go to a record studio if you want sound check.
