Horrible Place To Live, Renters Beware

I currently live at Ames Lake. This place is awful. There are people yelling right outside the building until the wee hours of the morning nightly, I've seen children having fist fights in the street (and they look like they have been doing it for years), I came across a gang beating one night, I've seen drug deals happening on the corner, I smell people smoking marijuana almost nightly, there have been police in the building countless times, a neighbor downstairs was arguing with a man who just got out of jail and gave her a black eye. The laundry room only has 1 washer and 1 dryer for 12 apartments and the washer has been broken for days now. The units are filthy and disgusting. The light bulb in the laundry (the only source of light) has been burnt out for the majority of the time that I have lived there. I guess changing a light bulb is too much for maintenance to handle. Oh and speaking of maintenance, the management and maintenance aren't great either. When I signed my lease I put down multiple repairs that were to be done to our apartment and it has been over 7 months since I moved in and those repairs still haven't been done. I had DirectTV when I signed the lease. The management informed me that I would be able to keep my DirectTV, but no. They told me after I signed the lease that they have a contract with Dish Network and I had to cancel DirectTv. Everything the management told me was a lie. I would never recommend anyone to live here and as soon as my lease is up I'm moving!!!!!!!!!

Well, I had high hopes for this place, this was going to be my number one pick for an apartment until I read this, I am sorry to hear that, I feel sorry for those kids and the people living there, something needs to change, the only reason I would ever live there now would be to try and make peace in the community, I am sorry for what you face, but thanks for sharing.
