My roommate and I were warned about the crime in the neighborhood before we moved in. The selection committee had told us stories of residents getting mugged in the parking lot, cars getting broken into and stolen, and people being shot within blocks of the building. Even after the warnings we decided the price was decent enough to outweigh the risks. Plus both our cars were more than 10 years old and we didn't keep any valuables in them so we kinda just ignored them thinking that it wont happen to us.
We moved in spring and within a week my bike that I had locked up was stolen. Other than that it was a great place to live in summer with all the outdoor events going on in the courtyard.
My roomates 1994 car was the first to be stolen and I laughed about it cuz I couldn't figure out what anybody would want an old car with over 200,000 miles on it, He wound up finding it a few days later and everything was in working order, but then my 1996 car was stolen and the police found it a few weeks later and I had to pay $150 to retrieve it out of impound. After that I couldn't wait for the lease to be up.
My bedroom was unbearably hot and I had to leave my window wide open in the middle of winter while the rest of the apartment was drafty. We had a noise complaint when I had 3 friends over to play monopoly, another when somebody was quietly playing an acoustic guitar.
If it wasn't for the neighborhood and crime I woulda been ok with the heat issues and paper thin walls and probably still live there.
There are alot of better artspace properties including the Carleton Lofts, Tilsner and Northern Warehouse

Now why is it the FFL Jihad Committee isn't stoning this negative reviewer? Why aren't they calling this person a liar, when their negative review reinforces some of what was said by the original negative review? Oh, right. Apparently the "community" at FFL only has a Hatfield/McCoy vendetta going against one former household. Well, that's OK then.
