I am a current tenant, appalled at the behavior of management and tenants regarding this website. Besides posting what could potentially be legally actionable posts naming and slandering former tenants at the Apt Ratings website, there is also the pathetic attempt by management (including FFL Board members), to flood this website with positive reviews, a clear abuse of this web site's review policy.
Below, I have copied a post to the FFL Yahoo Group on May 21, 2009 by FFL's property manager:
Hello all,
I wanted to make the coop and residents aware of the comments that your home has out on the internet (some of the first things that come up on google): This is a definite reason for our vacancy problems.
First, I want to take the opportunity to thank ------- for the only positive post on the site (apartmentratings.com). The best marketing is resident referrals and comments. I would like to encourage as much feedback as possible be put up on these site, hopefully more positive than not. But what prospect ant residents want to truly know is what you like and dislike about living here at Frogtown. Honest answers are always the best.
Please take the time if you have 10 to 15 minutes to put up a posting at any of the following sites.

I would like to put up a quick response to the term "Management Abuse". I would like to acknowledge that yes I did send the email above and my intentions were never to flood this site with positive reviews. Social Marketing is a leading marketing tool and something I think a community such as an Artists Coop should be aware of. I think people should have a broader representative of our community. I would first and foremost request that people stop attacking others posts, and instead give an HONEST post of how they like or dislike the unit and community they live in. If you read through my whole email I don't ask for positive reviews I tell them to enter likes and dislikes. As well as to communicate what they dislike to me directly. I care about my residents and their happiness, I do understand that I can never always make every one happy, but I'm always willing to try and work things out with people to come to the best resolutions for the Coop and the individual.

Pretty empty words. You are the management representative who called on your current tenant wolf pack to "fix" the perceptions people were getting from the negative reviews. Your wolf pack comes into this site, with the sole intent of bullying and ripping into the person/people who posted negative review(s) you told them to counter, and all you can do is claim "I didn't do anything wrong"? Actually, yes you did. You put out a call to a group of bullies who are current tenants, told them to come to this website specifically, and counter the negative reviews. What you did was sleazy and unethical. Your wolf pack is now making this property look ten times worse than any bad review ever could. Instant karma, and it looks like the property will get exactly what they deserve for stalking and harassing a former tenant who obviously moved because they were unhappy with your property and lack of effective and responsible property management. You proved their point, concisely.

You are the one stalking everyone who posts a good review or any kind of response. That's ok though, It'll all come down on you in the end. I see they've already taken down some of your posts. And, it's not just girls who are posting here either so your "mean girls" theory is B.S.

I just received a notification email from the Apartment Ratings staff that a thread of reviews started by your Frogtown colleague, violated their posting policy, and had been removed. At my request. I have no problem with having a post of my own deleted in the name of proper moderation, here or in any online forum. This website is well run and follows up on abuse complaints about violations of posting policies very promptly. If I am the offending party and am posting in violation of their policies my posts should be removed. This website provides a terrific service, has diligent staff, and an ethical commitment to giving users a realistic look at their potential new homes. My contribution here was done in that same spirit, hard as that likely is for some who love Frogtown, to understand.
