If you like trains...

I thought the 1 bedroom apartment layout was very small. I lived there with a girlfriend for two years and even just the two of us were bumping into each other constantly. They do not allow pets of any kind, except perhaps caged creatures. The management was very kind and knew almost everyone by name. The parking lot was well tended. I had a car window broken there one night, though... lighting could be better. Another perk was FREE air conditioning and heating... a very neat feature. And it worked very well. BUT my biggest issue with this place was the *TRAINS*. Even if you're not in a unit facing the tracks, you can still hear them just fine. The tracks just to the north of the property--the parking lot wall butts up against the tracks--run about 40 trains per 24 hours. The apartment is at the top of a hill, which means you won't find the trains easily coasting by--they're always cranked to full power to pull the trains up or down the hill. NOISY! Everything in the apartment would shake when they passed by. We had a nice 3rd floor view of como park... in the summer we'd leave the screen door open to enjoy a fresh breeze (the air is nice there due to the park) and we'd have to close it every 25 minutes to shut out the train noise because we couldn't hear the TV when they passed. The rent was also a bit high for such a place. The private entry was neat, though. No stinky hallways :)
