Nice Place

Here's my 2 cents: Although I have no previous apartment living experience, I am very happy at Lakeshore. I was afraid it would be similar to a college dorm, but that is not the case at all. That is my caveat on my Overall Rating of "Superior to Most Others". I don't know what "Most Others" are like, but I am very satisfied here.

The grounds are always kept clean (both from human garbage and dog waste). The pool has always been sparkling clean and heated when I've used it.

This week the "Designated Pet Area", aka the "potty kennel", was removed and our dogs are now allowed to go potty at an area near the parking lot. Neither in the kennel, nor the new area, have I seen dog poop left by an owner.
The building seems well-built and fairly well-insulated for noise. I live in a dog building, so of course there is occasional barking, but that is to be expected and I think my neighbors do a good job keeping their pets from incessantly barking.

The office staff has always been friendly and extraordinarily helpful to me. Several times they have gone out of their way to find information about the community for me. Twice they actually dropped what they were doing and immediately helped me. Great service!

The apartment itself is nice enough. As I stated, I have never lived in an apartment, so I have no frame of reference to compare it to. There are minor quirks with fixtures, etc, and the appliances are definately showing their age; most notably the dishwashers, which are very old and ridiculously loud. They do a good job of washing the dishes, though, and that is what counts. Nothing serious enough to downgrade the rating.

Finally, the neighborhood is residential and very nice. There are good sidewalks and walking trails to walk on, with no safety issues to worry about, although I feel the parking lot lighting is insufficient. There are good lights for the spots near the buildings, but they need a couple near the back of the lot.
