Wonderful Views, Great Design, but Don't Expect Luxury

My experience at the Lowertown has been mixed over the past three and a half years I have lived here. The staff, while helpful within limits, can be difficult to work with when it comes to expenditure on their part. I still have a cracked window that has not been fixed in the two years I have been in this unit. It is no big deal, but it is irritating that I pay so much in rent and cannot get the thing fixed. Beyond maintenance issues, which are generally solved when little expense is at hand, the building is very interesting. I have thoroughly enjoyed the views from my apartments (once of the bluffs next to the river, once of the farmers' market), and everyone that comes to my place likes the novelty of it. I will say that the carpet is not nice; it is clean, but wood floors or slate would be better. Also, the issue with the dryer not blowing to the outside is an inconvenience I have not enjoyed. Overall, I believe that if you're willing to live with relatively cheap construction and the dryer problem, it is very nice living here. The fact that I can park my car inside, take the elevator upstairs and work out in the same bulding is a major advantage in winter when life here sucks, and at the end of the day, that's the lowest common denominator for me.
