Recently there was a robbery here in the parking lot. An older woman was robbed at gun point one night. No mention was made of this for 10 days. The word is out in the neighborhood that a lot of older people live here and we are easy pickings. You can bet they will be back to pick off another purse soon, since it was so easy the first time. Two bicycles were stolen off of balcony by two men who rode off on them last week. The management's solution' Issue a security alert warning us to lock our doors and be aware of dangers around us. No increased security. No offers of patrols around the lots. No offer of escorts at night. With 540 units, they should offer more to us than just a flyer slid under our doors. This is one person who is planning on leaving soon.

The fact is, the victim was a young woman. Management notified all of us so we could be watchful. Be thankful, some places would have tried to keep it from the residents and hush it up. There is now a patrol going through the property on a regular basis several times a night. I see them occasionally driving around. I understand they go through the buildings, too. Crime is everywhere, we can only be watchful or move to a gated community. It's not the best time to feel safe. But, we can't blame McKnight for the crime.
