I lived at McKnight Village for four years after I finished college and started working full time. I always felt safe outside and in my apartment. The building and grounds are well-kept. I liked the exercise room - nothing too fancy, but it has good equipment and a tv. I used the party room once for a large gathering and was pleasantly surprised to find there was no fee. McKnight Village is served by two bus routes, a regular city bus and a limited-stop to downtown, which I used nearly every day. Target, a couple of grocery stores, and the library are very close. I even used to walk to them sometimes when the weather was nice.
I also wanted to mention that the time when my dishwasher broke it was replaced right away, and when I moved out I got my entire deposit back with interest, which I was not expecting. Overall I enjoyed living at McKnight Village and felt that I got a lot more for my money than friends living in more expensive "trendier" places in the cities. I'm moving out of state, so that's the only reason I'm not still there.
