The buildings are old and in need of serious repair. They need a mold abatement. I was living on the second floor, and water somehow came into my bedroom through the lightfixture, dripped down the outer wall and onto my mattress. It also came into my closet and ruined some of my clothes. I alerted the management team, and they took over a month to start dealing with it. Mold began to grow on my bedroom ceiling. I slept out in the living room for a couple of days, but I became sick- sore throat, trouble breathing. That was when I sent them a certified letter that they needed to get rid of the mold. Instead of actually dealing with it properly they offered me the option to break my lease. They then proceded to cut a hole out of the ceiling and patch it up right away. Management informed me that the black mold growing on my ceiling was in fact mildew. Whatever it was, you couldn't anywhere in the apartment for more than 10 minutes with the windows closed. I wore a mask over my nose and mouth while I packed up all of my belongings to move out. My neighbor told me she had a similar problem, but they painted over her mold/water damage with a special paint to kill mold. If you pushed up on my bedroom ceiling you could feel that it was soft and had been wet and dried repeatedly before. Dominium doesn't know how to maintain their properties.

A friend of mine lived at Oakdale before getting married. He loved it and said the maintenance people got back quickly. this story seems wierd to me.
