LOL ... This is so OBVIOUSLY written by management... Here is the real scoop:

Pro's
1. Management responds quickly to any problems or requests.
ex: I needed my thermostat fixed, replace blinds that I broke, new storage unit prepared... all done with in the first 1-3 days of request. With this many units, I find that time very good!

WE DIDN'T HAVE A WORKING TOILET FOR ALMOST A MONTH... THEY WOULD COME EVERYDAY AND "FIX" IT ... BUT IT NEVER WORKED... BRINGING A ONE YEAR OLD TO SA EVERY TIME YOU HAVE TO PEE FOR A MONTH... NOT VERY FUN!!!!

2. They let you have pets, cats, and any weight dog! They have a great dog park for your pets to go run around.

YEAH, THAT IS JUST AWESOME. ESPECIALLY ONCE THE RODENTS INFEST YOUR APARTMENT AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO SPRAY DUE TO THE ANIMALS IN THE BUILDING AND THE CHANCE OF A CAT EATING A DISGUSTING MOUSE THAT IS IN THE PROCESS OF DYING FROM THE CHEMICALS. IF YOU LIVE IN AN APT, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE AN ANIMAL. NOBODY ELSE WANTS TO HEAR IT OR DEAL WITH IT. GET A YARD!

3. The building is rent controlled, after you sign the lease for as long as you live here your rent will never go up. Thats amazing!

THAT IS FALSE! YOUR RENT WILL GO UP EVERY YEAR. MY HUSBAND LIVED THERE OVER 6 YEARS (THEN ONCE I CAME IN I MADE HIM MOVE THE F OUT)IT INCREASED BY AT LEAST $25.00 EVERY MONTH PER YEAR.

4. They take great care of the landscaping, beautiful, it has a volley ball court, playground for kids and picnic areas with several grills.

HA, LIKE I WOULD LET MY CHILD PLAY AT THAT GHETTO PARK.. .YUCK!

5. The management staff is extremely friendly and will help with anything they can that is within reason.

THANK YOU SARA FOR CLARIFYING THAT ANYTHING "WITHIN REASON" WILL BE HANDLED... I UNDERSTAND THE CONSTANT MOLD PROBLEM IN THE BATHROOM AND THE ENTRY DOOR THAT EITHER LOCKED COMPLETELY CLOSED, OR DIDN'T LOCK AT ALL, IS NOT "WITHIN REASON"... THAT'S JUST ME BEING HIGH MAINTENANCE ... THEY ARE VERY FRIENDLY THOUGH, THEY SHOULD ALL BE ACTORS/ACTRESSES ...

6. Water, HEAT and garbage is included in rent. My electric bill for a 2-bedroom is only $35 a month! In most apartments, Heat really makes your bill huge!\

LOL, WE PAID AT LEAST $100.00 FOR A 2 BEDROOM... BUT GOOD ADVERTISING!


7. The parking lots are very well lit, and they have a couple small lots and one very large lot (parking may stink if you live in the units farther from the big lot).

IF MY HUSBAND WASN'T HOME TO MEET ME AT MY CAR AND WALK ME TO MY APT, I WOULD AVOID GOING HOME. I WAS HARASSED IN THE PARKING LOT BY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR RIDES, MONEY, CRACK...

8. Oakdale Village had some vandalism on one of their buildings so they hired a new security company to monitor our community. I see them all the time, and feel safe.

HAHAHAHHAHAH! THE "SECURITY COMPANY" IS A JOKE... ARE THEY REALLY STILL THERE? THEY WOULD TRY TO ID ME WALKING IN WITH A HAMPER FULL OF CLOTHES AND A BABY... BUT IGNORE THE GANGSTER WALKING IN WITH A METH PIPE... "SECURITY" IS a 20 year old -----!

9. They have volleyball games, and community parties in the courtyard in the summer. ( bouncy castles for kids, popcorn, face painting,tacos, nachos, water balloon valleyball and raffle prizes!) To put that much time and effort in, obviously they care about their tenants.

LOL, THEY DON'T GIVE A ----... THEY DO THAT SO THEY HAVE A PICTURE FOR THEIR NEWSLETTER! YUCK! LIKE YOU WOULD EVEN WANT YOUR CHILDREN ASSOCIATING WITH THE TRASH CHILDREN OF THOSE BUILDING! 7-9 YEAR OLD KIDS WILL WALK INTO YOUR APT IF IT IS LEFT UNLOCKED AND TAKE YOUR PURSE... I ALMOST FEEL BAD FOR THEM, BUT I WOULD BEAT THEM IF I EVER GOT THE CHANCE!

10. They are updating the building, repainted all the hallways, re carpeting ect. Hopefully the outside of the building will be next! It's obvious that they are make great efforts to stay up to date.

11. The apartments have lots of space, the first floor has huge windows! They let you paint your apartment (as long as you paint it back before you leave) so you can give it your own personality! Our carpet is very good, and appliances are good. Our apartments let a lot of light in!

REALLY, THE CARPET IS GOOD? BECAUSE IT SMELLED LIKE CAT PISS AND BABY PUKE WHEN I MOVE IN... BUT WHEN I MOVED OUT I WAS ORDERED TO PAY FOR STANLEY STEEMER TO COME IN AND CLEAN THE CARPETS... I CAN GUARANTEE THEY WERE NOT CLEANED WHEN I MOVED IN ...

12. Most neighbors are VERY nice.

Con's

1. If you are a smoker, there is no smoking in any of the buildings. You have to go outside which I am not a smoker but I do oppose telling people what to do with their own apartments. Sorry smokers.

LOL, YEAH RIGHT! YOU CAN SMOKE WHERE YOU WANT!!!! DON'T LISTEN TO THAT ----!!!!!!

2. If you live in the units far from the big parking lot it's a bit of a walk to the big lot. It can get irritating.

IT IS IRRITATING.. IS IT THAT HARD TO GET ASSIGNED PARKING? MY FAVORITE WAS WHEN MY HUSBANDS CAR GOT TOWED BECAUSE THEY WERE "SWEEPING" THE PARKING LOT. APPARENTLY, THEY PUT NOTES UNDER EVERYONES DOOR(WE WERE IN A CORNER APT AND NEVER RCVD A NOTICE) WHY WOULD YOU POST IT ON THE DOOR? BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE TOO MUCH WORK! $300.00 LATER FOR GETTING THE CAR OUT OF IMPOUND (YOU WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD KNOW WHO'S CAR IT WAS CONSIDERING MY HUSBAND HAD THE SAME CAR FOR THE 6 YEARS HE LIVED THERE... THEY COULD HAVE CALLED HIM, BUT DIDN'T!)

3. In winter people get lazy with picking up dog poo. It can be very gross!

OH YEAH, ITS SO ICKY! PUHLEEEZE! THAT WAS THE LEAST OF MY PROBLEMS THERE!

4. The townhomes right next to the apartments( they are not owned by Oakdale Village) are subsidized housing... those homes can be very loud with their music and voices.


THEY ARE OWNED BY OAKDALE VILLAGE... IN FACT, THE PICTURE OF OAKDALE VILLAGE ON THIS WEBSITE IS THE SECTION 8 TOWNHOMES. I LOOKED INTO MOVING IN THERE BECAUSE THEY ARE NICE LOOKING... THEY ARE MUCH CHEAPER THEN THE APT'S AND YOU HAVE TO SHOW YOU MAKE UNDER 10K A YEAR... WHO MAKES UNDER 10K A YEAR? GANGSTAS!

5. The walls in apartments are very thin, I can hear my neighbor walk all over in her apartment upstairs. I hear everyone who walks on the stairs and open doors to the entryways. (My apartment is next to the stairs)

GOOD DISCLAIMER SARA... THE PEOPLE ABOVE ME HAD BOWLING BALL THROWING CONTESTS EVERY MORNING.. THAT IS SUPER FUN WHEN YOU ARE WORKING 2ND SHIFT AND YOU CAN HEAR SOMEONE JUMPING AROUND AT 7 AM... WHEN I RETALIATED BY DOING THE GOOD OLD BROOMSTICK TO THE CEILING TRICK, THE UPSTAIRS PEOPLE WERE POUNDING AT MY DOOR AT 7 AM READY TO FIGHT... HOW ABOUT... STFU!

6. The sidewalks were incredibly icy in winter, if you are elderly you may not want to live here for fear of falling!

BASICALLY THEY DO NOT SHOVEL WHEN IT SNOWS. IT WAS REALLY FUN BEING 8 MONTHS PREGNANT CARRYING IN A CRIB ON ICY SIDEWALKS... HOW ABOUT... SHOVEL THE EFFING SIDEWALK? IS IT THAT HARD?

7. There is no pool! Or gym! However, that does make your rent much cheaper than anywhere else you will find.

HAHA! YOU CAN FIND AN APT FOR THE SAME RENT THAT HAS THOSE COMMODITIES ... WE WERE PAYING $850.00 A MONTH FOR A 2 BEDROOM ... YOU ARE NOT GETTING ANY TYPE OF DEAL LIVING IN THAT DUMP!
