This is a huge warning to anyone looking to rent who has an aversion to tobacco smoke. The building is poorly constructed and easily let tobacco smoke into your apartment even if your windows and doors are closed. The common hallways and rooms, including laundry rooms(and therefore your laundry), tend to be inundated with tobacco smoke as well.
We asked before signing lease if smoking was an issue, and they had clearly lied to us. Even after many attempts to work with the management since then to resolve the issue, we are forced to stay here (unless we pay high penalty for break lease). The management treat us horribly every time we try to make the case, and lie to us when they attempt to "smell" the smoke. We continue to live in this terribly uncomfortable environment, and are left with only legal avenues, including bringing in local health inspector.
On another note, the building has undergone massive reconstruction, leaving the place a total dump for the past 3 months. We truly feel we are paying to live in a dump right now. If you see it yourself, you'll agree with that assessment.
So be aware of a poorly managed, poorly maintained apartment complex with more than a third of the units unrented because this place is really dirty and shady.
