I guess we do have a lot of whiners here.
Sure the building is almost 20 years old, but they are certainly spending some time and money doing some renovations that will benefit EVERYONE...not just the office staff. Laundry room renovations, common area improvements, entry way enhancements, excercise room addition, replacement of fixtures and appliances in units...what more do you want'
As for the attitude and competence of the staff...did YOU take the time to introduce yourself' There are 300 people in the building and less than 10 staffers. I introduced myself and everyone has been very kind, accomodating and thoughtful. I agree we were caught off guard and it would have been nice to have a building function immediately after the new owners took over, but they didn't...so don't hold a grudge. The party detailing the upcoming renovations was very informative, the food selection fabulous and the staff welcoming. Unfortunately many residents are unaware of this as it did not seem to be well attended.
I also agree that the recycling area can be quite unsightly and the air pressure does make the doors slam VERY loudly...but is it the staffs fault' It seems to me it is the residents who leave the trash/recyclables downstairs in an unsightly manner and the residents who do the majority of the door slamming. We are living in an apartment COMMUNITY, we need to be respectful of our neighbors and our common areas.
Perhaps we as residents need to make some friendly suggestions. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to make a weekend info sheet on the weather and activities going on around the city. I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to mention in the newsletter to be considerate of your neighbors and try to prevent your door from slamming.
I for one, think The Towers of Galtier are a great place to live. I am proud to tell people where I live and have them visit.
