I have been a guest at Wayzata Lake Apartments on several occasions and considred renting from them myself because of the location but after reading some of the terrible reviews of this place and experiencing some of the same things they went through, I felt I needed to caution others before they choose to live here.

I thought I had a really bad landlord living in the Midway area of St. Paul when I went to college, (and that area is pretty ghetto) but he was nothing compared to the management at this place. What kind of manager walks into your apartment at 7 in the morning with NO notice'' All the other reviews have cited this problem and yes, that did actually happen when i was there!!! There is no privacy with those people! They seem to come in unannounced and tell you that you need to clean up or leave rude notes on your bed blaming you for the condition of the old, unmaintained apartment.

My friend and i were told that they have gone through over 25 maintenance people over the last 5 years!! There were holes in some of the doors, a shower and sink that was clogged for weeks before it was repaired, no heat during the coldest days of winter..um, isn't that ILLEGAL''

Let's see what else...Security in the building' What security' The front door was broken and stuck open half the time so anyone could walk in and as for the side door...all you need is a credit card to EASILY get that door open. And considering that there were 2 people arrested in the parking lot last week, I would be seriously worried about what kind of activity is going on inside the building as well. There was a robbery in that building just this past spring also. I was told of an instance where drugs were offered to a group of people sitting outside the building. Nice. That's just where i want to live.

The heating system in ancient in that place too. No wonder it barely works. It was covered with dust and hair and looked like it could burst into flames at any moment. I'd say that's a serious fire hazard and i don't think they seem to care or it wouldn't be in that condition.

Oh, and the hallways smell like urine. I have had to hold my breath while walking through that place. That's always a welcoming smell to come home to every day.

No wonder they can't hire a competant or full time property manager.....i can't imagine anyone who would want to put up with or try and repair the crap that goes on at that place.

The only thing nice about the place is it's location and proximity to the lake...but that said, you couldn't pay me to live there.

I'd gladly move back to Midway and live in my old crappy college house with my crabby old landlord than put up simply visiting this place. But if you like the smell of urine, bad management, and the risk of your apartment burning down, than this is just the place for you

Dear B & J, Please stop trying to hurt us. This above review is not true at all.

The idea of a 'guest' at an apartment complex is first odd in its self, and having a 'guest' who seems bound and determined to keep posting as -Anonymous- and spewing such hate is both amazing and sad. As an apartment dweller myself, I often have VISITORS, but can't remember when I've ever had a 'guest'. At least as I understand the concept of guest and visitor, a visitor is a short term thing, and a guest stays a much longer time, day or weeks in a home. If your a 'guest' I think you and your host owe so extra rent! This complaint is a lot of bunk, and as a 8 YEAR tenet here at Wayzata Lake Apartments, I ought to know! This seems like a pathetic hate campaign the more I read the ongoing complaints from -Anonymous-, and say that if you are this upset about someplace you don't even live in, I suggest you have a real problem and should consider more professional help! If you want to get technical, I am a "visitor" that has also been disgusted with these apartments. (Personally, I do not find any difference between being a guest or visitor.) Frankly, anyone who has a friend living there wouldn't be much of a friend if they didn't try to help make the living situation better there. I am not on a hate campaign, but am tired of seeing my friend unhappy. My friend doesn't want to cause "waves" so he says little to management. I, on the other hand have nothing to lose by expressing some of my friend's disappointments with this place. I will say one good thing about these apartments, the location is great. I would love to see the apartments themselves and management improve to match the location. I believe that if they did, they would have one heck of a booming business there. Sincerely, R.P.

This is 'B' from B & J. Learn the law! I am a lawyer and you will soon not have apartments to rent if it is up to me.

Interesting... just to say the anonymous "guest" or "visiter" or whichever you prefer has some valid concerns that I think should at least be looked into. As for the going back and forth with reviews and responses my posting here is new.
