Once excellent, now mediocre at best.

As far as renting in Wayzata is concerned, it doesn't get much better than this. Tucked behind the Wayzata Medical Center and surrounded by woods it's a quiet 2-building complex.
The apartments are a little older (built in 1970, I believe), but they are meticulously maintained and the building management is very friendly and very responsive.
I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable place to live in an excellent location.
--- Update to my original review
Wayzata Woods came under new management in 2007, and things took a nose dive. Originally I was optimistic about the new management...they were making a number of cosmetic improvements to the building, but that was where the improvements stopped.
As for the mold comments, I never had any experience with it, nor did it bother me.
I was bothered by management's lack of attentiveness to my maintenance requests (a very noisy refridgerator that was never fixed, damaged kitchen floor that was never replaced, and a kitchen sink that was backed up for 3 days before the plumber was called). Additionally, as part of the 'updates' management tore down a significant portion of the garage storage lockers without any notice...and then didn't replace them.
Also, be very very wary of your move out inspection. I got dinged nearly $300 for what was supposed to be "minor cleaning" on an apartment that I kept meticulously clean. Get a final clean up estimate in writing before you agree to anything.
Overall, it isn't a terrible place, but there are definitely MUCH better rental bargains to be had now.

I agree. I lived there for 1 year and loved it. Great pool! The management used to be a little more responsive - Chris was a great manager. I would recommend it.

Being the user that originally posted this, I figured I'd swing back and offer my update.
I recently moved out of Wayzata Woods, and while I did enjoy my time there, the new management isn't up to par. They've made some cosmetic improvements to the building, but they've all been done on the cheap. The new management has really destroyed what was once a very friendly and nice community.
So, no, the original poster (me) is not management. My opinion at the time I wrote this was accurate, however...given the opportunity to rent at Wayzata Woods again...I would look elsewhere.
