Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009

Lived at the Grand Reserve for 2 years -- yes, apartments are large, but cheap appliances, cheap carpet, just generally cheaply made and try to call it "luxury" because they are big. Whatever. Garages were nice (had a 3BR apartment so 2 car garage) b/c big enough for 2 cars and some shelves. Parking always sucked -- driveways barely big enough for 1 visitor, so overflow spaces always filled. Office staff was horrible after Summer 2008. Changed a lot of staff members and the new ones (there still in March 2009) are cold, uncaring, and just generally not nice people. Sure -- come in with a quick question they are fine, but if you really need help with something they don't care at all. I don't recommend it -- if you want big apartments then fine, it's the biggest around for the money -- but shoddily made and over-hyped! I wouldn't recommend it at all!

I too have found the staff very accomodating. Perhaps it was your delivery. If you live in a 2 car garage unit there is plenty of room to get 2 cars in the drive and in many cases 4. I have never heard my neighbors (in 10 years). Sounds to me like someone renewing their lease didn't get everything they wanted.

Actually, I did renew my lease once (had 2 1-year leases) and got everything I wanted in terms of $$$ aspects. I expect a "luxury" rental to include not hearing my neighbors children every time they cry, hear their phone ring, and hear them go up and down their stairs all day/night long. I am happy you found the staff accommodating -- I personally think they are an office full of people "pretty" to look at without much upstairs, but hey - what do I know - I've only rented in 4 states for 10 years and never encountered any problems in the past (including big cities where, if you've lived in one, you know how rough the rental market can be). "Luxury" does not mean crappy carpet and linoleum floors. GR attempts to call themselves luxury based on size of apartments - that doesn't work. That's called "spacious," not "luxurious." I'm happy some of you have never heard your neighbors - unfortunately, we did - every single day and night.
And as for parking -- we had 2 cars, and ours would be in the garage. As you should know if you live there, all the driveways are different sizes -- ours was short and could just about fit 2 cars side by side. Which meant that having more than 2 people over was a problem to find "overflow" parking. Guess I should have had less friends visit according to you all.
I'm happy that you guys are happy - but really - if someone had a bad experience, we should be entitled to post about it without your comments. I didn't comment on anyone else's reviews where I disagreed. Butt out of mine.
