Village Park of Ballwin, (formerly known as Mark Twain Apartments) was bought out by a new company last year and some changes have been made, most of them for the better.

The new compnay (which I understand is a rather large corporation, as opposed to the small time owners of before) has renovated every unit. Hard wood floors in the dining room, more modernized kitchens, a double decker washer/dryer, covered parking, and they got rid of the awful electronic outer door security keys.

They did raise rent, they now charge for covered parking, they now charge for water, and their late rent policy is a bit more harsh but overall, I like it. Mark Twain apartments was sort of known for being a riff raff kind of neighborhood. When the new company took over I remember seeing people being evicted left and right for the first few months. They cleaned this whole place up. They of course are charging for it, but I gladly make the trade.
