Burr Oak Woods was the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The two years I spent there were horrible. The owners were rude every time I came in contact with them. The office never had the same manager for more than a few months, so good luck finding anyone who could actually give you any accurate information. The maintenance man was old, rude, and a terrible worker. He would come and go from our apartment whenever he pleased, for no reason. Then, when you needed something he would never show up. There were times we called other people (friends etc.) to fix toilets and drains because he would never show up. Then, when our apartment flooded (as did several other people's) due to overwhelming rain storms he refused to do anything about it! We moved out and it took 90 days to hear anything about our security deposit, way over the Missouri law. Then, they have the audacity to tell us they are keeping every dime of our deposit as well as trying to charge us and additional $500. One of the big charges: the stained carpet due to flooding (which we attempted to get fixed but maintenance wouldn't listen.) We fought with them for almost 2 years. The owners would never return phone calls to work out anything...then when we finally just assume everything was let go we are hit with a law suit. After we worked hard to compromise with him and he wouldn't cooperate, he turns around and sues us. These people are the rudest people and worst business people I have ever met. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...DON'T MOVE ANYWHERE NEAR THIS PLACE!

Not to mention as far as safety goes...my car was stolen from the parking lot one month after moving in and of course there wasn't a manager to tell! I left messages about the police report being filed and no one got back to me. However, I did come out to an "intent to tow" notice on the borrowed vehicle I was using. So...no one would return my calls about my stolen car, but had time to come around checking the cars in parking lot' Seems a bit fishy to me.
