$300 Electric Bills for a $500 apartment!
From: peekay33Date posted: 4/19/2004
Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
Our building had huge glass windows which faced the afternoon sun. Our air conditioner ran continuously and our apartment would still be 85 degrees at the end of a summer day. Our electric bills were in excess of $300 on a regular basis. We asked management to cover the windows and were promised for over a year that it was "in progress." It never happened.
Our shower broke four times before we finally just stop asking for it to be fixed AGAIN.
Our garbage disposal broke and they left us with a non-working kitchen sink for five days.
The bathtub in the first floor apartment leaked all over our washer/dryer and management said there was no problem.
We had squirrels in our attic and the urine leaked into our apartment. Arter faxing a memo every single day for three consecutive days to the main office, I got a reply that they would place traps on the building. I spent two more months requesting carpet cleaning and replacement of the rotted boards in my attic access. I finally rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned it myself. The boards were fixed four months after the traps were placed and over a year after my original requests to handle this problem.
