New Managment

This is my fourth year living at Baxter Crossings. I can honestly say that when I moved in it was hands down the best bang for your buck for an apartment. I personally liked the old management. In the past I have recommended Baxter to numerous friends!! At least the complex was high quality with them. I do however have concerns about the recent new management. BIG CONCERNS. I will no longer be recommending to friends. Since the complex changed over things have gone downhill. I can only anticipate this getting worse in time. It's only been a month. In that time the website was disabled, there are rumors that the fitness center will no longer be in exsistance, the clubhouse and office is always locked and closed before the regular working world gets off work which makes it difficult to pick up packages ect, the pool is dirty and has a film on it, we are no longer informed of anything happening within the complex whereas we used to get a monthly bulliten, they are painting and it looks hideous and cheap with bleeding through all over the place. We have only had one informational newsletter from the new management company informing us that they now own it. In that letter we were told there would be changes but that we'd be informed of them soon. The letter never gave a name of the new manager (a person's name that is) and since that first letter we've received NOTHING from the new management regarding anything they plan to do or are doing. Apparently the office hours changed, the rent due dates changed, the website is gone, painting is occuring and we've been informed of none of this other than that first letter that vaugly stated "changes" will be occuring in the future. Personally, I liked the old management better. They were VERY good about communiction with the residents and specific too. I can see this place going to crap within 6 months to a year. We were told the new owners are Midwest Diversity, though when you google that company it doesn't even come up. Sketchy at best is all I'm saying.

I just left there after being a long standing resident...I lived there happily for 3 years. Then new management came in and jacked my rent up when my lease renewal came up...then they started that crappy painting that looks like an institution rather than the warm inviting colors it used to be, and yes they neglect the pool big time...I couldn't even take my children over to the pool the few weeks before school started...it's a shame too because I LOVED Baxter Crossings when I first moved there. I know that the apartments up the road from Baxter (Westmont) is owned and managed by the old Baxter company but the apartments aren't as big and have less storage so we chose to move into a house instead of another apartment. Good luck and I hope that your rent doesn't get a $100/month hike like mine did (mine was going to go from $845 to $945).

I have lived at Baxter Crossings for about 8 years or so, and the gestapo tecniques used by the new management is frightening. The very same day they moved in, they fired Becky "the old manager". Now the assistant manager Donna has been fired. They did however inform us of "changes" but chaining shut the pool on Labor Day weekend was quite a shock and definately a "change". I am also very interested to know if these people that are painting this place to look like something out of North City are even legal to be here. I spoke to a Chesterfield police officer and they have had a great many calls about uninvited "painters" showing up on residents patios with zero notice moving personal items. I will recieve 24 hour notice of property managed personel needing to be on my patio or I will respond in a very negative fashion. We have given our notice that we are leaving and after as many years that I have lived here I have to say good riddens. We will probably read about this beautiful community turning into a place that will actually require regular police patrols to maintain the level of security and homieness that used to be here without it. There is a sign out front of the complex that reads "Under New Management" I say it's now under ---- management. I am glad to say that my future home has all the amenities that Baxter used to have, such as the regular summer activities at the pool, the bulletin board at the mailboxes, the ability to have a package dropped off at the office, friendly and courtious staff members. This may sound like a rant, and so it is. My first interaction with the new management was them trying to tell me that I failed to pay Julys rent. I am fairly certain that the old management would have let us know of such an oversight, turns out "as we already knew" they were very wrong and still they offered no apology. I know that many others are leaving here to live elsewhere due to this very sort of thing.
Locking up the pool on labor day weekend is just cold.

Wow! I was almost ready to sign a lease after spending several months looking in the area for an apartment. I live up the street now and always drove past this apartment complex and thought it looked so nice and "up-scale". After reading this, I will be looking for another place for sure! It's really too bad, this is a great area.
