Ashland Manor was the first Apartment that I had my sophomore year of college. I had a very positive experience there. We lived on a ground floor apartment facing the parking lot and we received a rent decrease because our window's faced the parking lot, which I never found to be very annoying.

I'm not going to say things were of great quality in the apartment, but it never took them more than a day or two to fix any problems we had. I always found Verna very easy to work with if you were respectful and honest with her. I had a few financial problems that year and Verna worked with me and the owner so that we could resolve/arrange for late rent payments. I never once had a negative experience with her.

At move out we were given an itemized list of exactly what needed to be cleaned and how much every type of damage would be, which beats any where else I've lived since. And we got back the exact amount we were supposed to.

Furthermore the complex is nice and quiet and in a beautiful area, my friends who were all living at the more 'designer' complex's for students were constantly complaining about noise, parties, and drunks, we never had a problem. Our neighbors were polite and wonderful people and at least those of us in my building looked out for each other. (They would knock on our door and let us know about flat tires or when we left our headlights on).

The only bad thing is the hill of the apartment complex is impossible to get up in heavy ice (I lived there the winter or 2006 when we had the ice/snow that actually shut down MU). And maintance was slow getting snow shoveled and such.

Overall I had a wonderfully positive experience there, it was nice and quiet and felt like a real community of people who respected one another... not a glorified and expensive dorm or party. And I new many people who lived there for several years. I would gladly recommend it to someone.

Must be an employee

This person obviously had very low expectations for themselves, or as anonymous has stated, is an employee. Worst place I have ever lived, hands down. I wish the city health department would check these guys out. Unbelievable.

Thank you for a very candid and honest review. I am one of the partners and operations manager (wgs2@centurytel.net). None of our employees wrote the review as the two responders suggest. Cardwell1972: write to me and let me know what the problem was with your unit. Sometimes we find that problems are not communicated effectively. Our apartments are inspected annually by the City of Columbia. The apartments were built in 1981 and the townhouses in 1985. Thank you.
