NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! Where to begin...
How about the lack of safety' Sidewalks here are dark. The only lighting is from the tiny porch lights from the apartments themselves. Not only that, but there's loud, drunken people outside every night. We actually had someone try to break into our apartment while we were home. There is an on site security officer here. But I've personally only seen him out ONCE. Other times he's in his apartment watching TV with his girlfriend and his dog. (he leaves his patio door open).
Don't buy into their advertisements either. Their pool is disgusting! Not to mention that they close it early in the season...not that that even matters. The lining isn't attached, the water is green and slimy b/c they don't use chemicals, there's bugs, dirt, and leaves everywhere b/c they don't skim it EVER, and all of the pool's lounge chairs are broken and/or cracked. The hot tub would be great...if it worked. As of right now, and as long as I've been here, there's yellow caution tape around it. Also, their 24 hour "fitness center" has 3 treadmills. 2 of which don't work. And the free tanning bed is only open until 4pm every day. So unless you get done w/ class early, you won't be able to use it.
Don't expect to have your apartment set at a comfortable temperature either. The windows aren't sealed and there's a steady flow of freezing cold air coming through in the winter. One side of your apartment will be burning hot in winter, and the other side will be cold...always. Also, the dryer will make the unit super hot. Hot enough that you will actually have to turn the heat off in winter, and open the door. Speaking of the door...It WONT open. You have to pull it toward you in order to be able to unlock it.
Don't expect to have anything that needs to be fixed fixed either. My roommate had black mold growing on the wall and on the carpet in her room. They accused her of spilling something in her room so they came and shampooed her carpet. It still wasn't fixed. After that, they sprayed it w/ chemicals. (The dangerous ones that you're supposed to stay away from for AT LEAST 24 hours)...It's still not fixed. The faucet for one of our showers isn't attached to the wall and there's mold growing there too. Maintenance is rude and will just waltz right into your place w/o warning. And they won't change the lights either. And living on the third floor w/ the vaulted ceilings doesn't make it easier. Unless you move in and pack a ladder, you'll have to put the tall bar stool on top of the coffee table in order to reach it.
The carpet will always look dirty no matter what you do. We've shampooed our ourselves 4 or 5 times now b/c it smells funny. It's still gross.
Staff won't tell you when you get a package either. So unless you're expecting one, you won't ever know. They claim it isn't their responsibility to tell you when you get mail even tho all packages get delivered to the office. They show about as much respect to your mail as they do the the people living here...not much.
There's a HUGE drainage problem in the parking lot that was never fixed in the summer. So basically, you can ice skate in the parking lot in the winter. And the dumpster is in the absolute darkest part of the whole place. So don't take out your trash at night.
I could go on, but I figure I've written a long enough novel as it is. There's plenty of other places to live in Columbia...start looking. You've been warned. DO NOT live at campus view. And take note: campus view staff rigs their ratings. Take it from a true resident...Run away!

Well in response to this person.. I know personally that the tanning bed which is STAND UP and NICE is open as long as the office is open in winter till 7 and summer is 8! There is no caution tape around the hot tub come look there's not! Maintenance goes in to an apartment when they are requested to! As far as this response goes it is all LIES I can assure you this much. Come take a look and you will know for yourself. When it comes to packages the mail man will leave a slip in your mail box, the residents get called and if they are MU they get emailed because Campus View can not have access to their phone numbers. They have came under new management and great improvements have been made. The pool is clean and will stay open just like last year way after Labor day!!
