I lived at the Colony Apts. for 2 years because I could not afford anything better. Frequently the neighbors were loud and the parking lots were busy with groups of local hoods who sat around drinking alcohol into the late evening and listening to their loud, base-filled music. Police were frequently called to the apartment buildings for domestic violence and neighbor disputes. I came to realize a very large portion of the tenants were people on government assistance (i.e. welfare) and/or low-income housing. Many of them were smokers and drug users. I contacted the manager, Scott, several times to rectify a problem with a neighbors marijuana use and despite identifying the problem and acknowledging it, he did nothing. I was elated when I found another place I could afford and moved out. Unfortunately, despite cleaning my apartment until it was spotless, they did not give me a single cent back on my deposit. This is a poorly managed and ran apartment complex; the absolute worst in Columbia, MO! DO NOT RENT HERE!
